All-new Mercedes G-class gets Mild Hybrid Tech

All new Mercedes G-class facelift unveiled; this is the second facia update this generation got and now G-class gets a Mild-hybrid tech.

Design-

The G-Class keeps its distinctive shape with classic features like unique door handles and a robust exterior. Updates include a new grille with four louvres like updated GLS, redesigned bumpers, and a relocated reversing camera. To maintain visibility, a wiper fluid nozzle is added beside the camera. Some changes, like new A-pillar cladding and roof spoiler lip, improve aerodynamics and reduce noise. The models come with 18-inch alloy wheels and LED headlights as standard, with a new metallic blue paint option. Wheel designs are available in sizes from 18 to 20 inches. These updates bring both traditional charm and modern improvements to the G-Class.

Features-

The new G-Class comes with the MBUX infotainment system, which has a large 12.3-inch display. It connects to smartphones via Android Auto Wireless or Apple CarPlay, allowing users to access phone features. Digital radio (DAB+) is included, and there's a USB-C port for other devices. The MBUX Augmented Reality for Navigation overlays navigation info onto live images, helping drivers to navigate in complex traffic easily. Voice assistance is also available, with saround 20 voice commands tailored for the G-Class.

Performance-

The new Mercedes-Benz G 500 features a 3.0-liter inline six-cylinder engine with twin turbocharging, including an exhaust-gas turbocharger, petrol engine generates 449 hp and 560 Nm of torque. Additionally, the integrated starter-generator (ISG) briefly adds 20 horsepower and 200 Nm of torque, another option is the six-cylinder diesel engine in the Mercedes-Benz G 450 d, producing 367 horsepower and 750 Nm of torque. Both engines are coupled with 9-speed automatic transmission.

Off-road capabilities-

The G-class can handle steep surfaces with ease, up to 100% gradeability, has 241 mm of high ground clearance between the axles, which helps it go over rough terrain. It has water wading capacity of 70 cm (2 ft approx.) Even on steep slopes of up to 35 degrees sideways, it remains stable. The front has an approach angle of 31 degrees and the rear has a departure angle of 30 degrees.

G63 AMG

The new Mercedes-AMG G 63 comes with the reliable AMG 4.0-liter V8 biturbo engine, which generates 585hp and 850 nm of torque, And now features 48-volt technology with an integrated starter-generator (ISG), adding 20hp and 200 nm of torque for a quick boost, can do 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.4 secs, with a top speed of 220 km/h. Mercedes offer optional AMG Performance package, from which can do 0-100 km/h in 4.3 secs.
