Citroen’s coupe-SUV, previously referred to as the C3X, has now been officially named as Basalt, scheduled for its grand unveiling on this Mar 27, this model of Citroen's is set in between highly competitive segment of the latest cars in India.
Design & Features
With a sleek coupe-like design, the Citroen Basalt combines elegance with practicality, setting it apart from conventional SUVs. Its teaser reveals a stylish slant-back profile, featuring a distinctive roofline merging seamlessly with a compact boot lid. Notably, the Basalt's tail-lamp design resembles the Euro-spec C3 hatchback, enhancing its premium appeal.
Basalt shares similarities with its sibling C3 Aircross, the powertrain and platform. However, Citroen targets to rectify the issues observed in previous models by equipping the Basalt with an array of advanced features. Electric-folding wing mirrors, automatic climate control, cruise control, wireless charging, LED headlamps, push-button start, and keyless entry are among the anticipated offerings.
All-new Basant is positioned above its sibling, the Citroen C3 Aircross SUV, the Basalt promises to offer more enhancements. Built on the CMP platform, it ensures features that surpass those found in the C3 Aircross. This strategic move aims to elevate the brand's status in the Indian car market.
Powertrain-
Upcoming Citroen Basalt will be powered by a 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine which produces 110hp, similar to its predecessors and the Basalt X will offer both manual and torque converter transmission options.
Citroen is planning to introduce an electric version which is completely based on the Basalt to further expand their portfolio in the evolving Indian car market, from the Citroen Basalt they are entering to the acompletely new chapter, it seeks to redefine the benchmarks for the best cars in India, which offers a blend of performance, sophistication, and innovation.
