2023 R125 gets a makeover derived from R15 V4

Yamaha unveils the 2023 YZF-R125 or baby R15 V4 with a lower capacity engine and an all-new design language derived from YZF-R15 and R7 as well. Cosmetic updates as per leaks make it a more capable and focused learner track tool.

Yamaha YZF-R125 is a recreation of the YZF-R15 V4 in terms of Styling and Aerodynamics, it gets a centrally placed single projector headlight with twin LED DRLs on the sides.

Aside from styling, it borrows electronic flavors like traction control which is not justified with a 14.8 PS powered bike, YZF-R125 also gets a quick shifter on offer as an option. The techiest addition to the bike is the new 5.5-inch TFT console which we’ve already seen on the new MT-125 and the MT-07 recently. This unit of TFT console has smartphone connectivity with call and SMS alerts and is complemented by YZF-R1-inspired switchgear.

New Yamaha YZF-R125 has the same liquid-cooled engine as before which generates 14.8 PS of power and 11.8 nm of torque with 292 mm of Disc brake at the front and 290 mm of Disc brake at the rear, a 41m KYB USD fork and mono-shock setup to handle suspension duties.

The new Yamaha YZF-R125 competes with KTM RC 125 and Suzuki GSX-125R in European markets but sadly it is not available for Indian customers.
