Toyota Motor Corporation has officially confirmed the introduction of the 48-Volt Mild Hybrid system on the legendary Fortuner SUV. Designed to enhance fuel efficiency and deliver smoother start-stop transitions, the updated powertrain pairs the tried-and-tested 2.8-litre turbo-diesel engine with a compact electric motor-generator.
Technical Enhancements:
- Electric Boost: Adds up to 16 bhp and 42 Nm of instantaneous torque assist during low-speed acceleration.
- Fuel Economy: Up to 10% improvement in urban stop-and-go driving conditions.
- Off-Road Tech: Upgraded Multi-Terrain Select system with Auto mode, downhill assist control, and 700 mm water wading capability.
