Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder gets CNG on offer.

Toyota announced to offer CNG variants in the all-new Urban Cruiser Hyryder which is newly launched in the Indian mid-size SUV segment. It becomes the first SUV to offer CNG in its segment. Toyota already opens the booking of the Urban Cruiser Hyryder CNG from ₹25000, but prices are yet to be announced.

Toyota sourced CNG kit from Maruti’s 1.5-litre K15C, four-cylinder engine which is already serving in CNG MPVs like XL6 and Ertiga. Although Toyota masked power and torque figures for the Hyryder CNG but can guess power and torque figures from the XL6 which produces 88hp and 121.5Nm in CNG mode, the power output of Hyryder remains nearby. Also, Manual transmission will be offered in the Hyryder CNG variants as same as the other CNG cars. Fuel economy can be estimated 26.10 km/kg, although yet to be certified by ARAI.

As per Toyota, CNG will be offered in the mid-spec variants S and G, which means without losing any features of the top-end trim and can save fuel too. However, the G trim already features equipped with full-LED headlamps, 9-inch touchscreen infotainment, ambient interior lighting, 17-inch alloy wheels, and side and curtain airbags safety as well.

It shares the rivalry with Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara CNG soon.
