BMW iX: A New Era in Electric Luxury and Performance

BMW continues to lead the charge in electric mobility with the launch of the new iX – an all-electric Sports Activity Vehicle (SAV) that redefines the concept of progressive luxury, sustainability, and high-performance driving. With its exceptional range, enhanced performance, and striking design, the latest iteration of the BMW iX demonstrates why the brand remains at the forefront of electric vehicle innovation.

Impressive Range and Efficiency

The new BMW iX offers a remarkable WLTP range of up to 701 km’s, setting a new benchmark in the electric vehicle market. Thanks to the advanced BMW Efficient Dynamics technologies, the iX delivers a blend of increased driving performance and extended range, making it one of the top contenders in the competitive electric vehicle space.

Significant improvements in performance electronics, wheel bearings, and tire optimization have contributed to over an 8% improvement in fuel efficiency under the WLTP cycle. For the BMW iX xDrive60, this translates to an additional 60 km's of driving range, further enhancing the vehicle's long-distance capability.

Powerful Performance Across All Models

The new iX offers three distinct models: the BMW iX xDrive45, xDrive60, and the high-performance iX M70 xDrive. Each version has been engineered to provide outstanding performance while embracing the principles of electric mobility.

  • BMW iX xDrive45: With a power output of 408 hp, the xDrive45 accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 5.1 seconds.
  • BMW iX xDrive60: The xDrive60 boosts power to 544 hp, achieving 0-100 km/h in

4.6 seconds.

  • BMW iX M70 xDrive: The M70 xDrive, BMW's most powerful electric model, delivers an astounding 485 kW (659 hp), accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in a blistering 3.8 seconds. It reaches a top speed of 250 km/h

Enhanced Battery Technology for Long-Distance Travel

BMW’s new battery technology enhances the efficiency and energy capacity of the high-voltage battery. The BMW iX xDrive45’s battery now features a 30% increase in energy content, reaching 94.8 kWh, allowing for a range of up to 701 km’s. Meanwhile, the iX xDrive60 and iX M70 xDrive boast batteries with 109.1 kWh and 108.9 kWh energy content, respectively.

The optimized power electronics and inverter technology ensure efficient energy transfer from the battery to the motor, contributing to a more sustainable driving experience. Drivers can also benefit from the MAX RANGE function, which can extend the driving range by up to 25%, making long-distance trips even more convenient.

Sleek, Sporty Design and Customization

The exterior design of the BMW iX is striking, with a monolithic appearance and a focus on clean lines and distinctive proportions. The redesigned kidney grille and adaptive LED headlights contribute to the vehicle’s bold look. The iX M70 xDrive, BMW’s top-of-the-line model, is equipped with exclusive M Sport features, including a unique kidney grille with the M logo, black exterior mirrors, and 22-inch M light-alloy wheels.

BMW offers a range of new colors for the iX, including Arctic Race Blue, Dune Grey, and Carbon Black, with additional options available through BMW Individual, ensuring customers can tailor their vehicle to their exact preferences.

Charging Efficiency and Enhanced User Experience

The new BMW iX takes charging efficiency to the next level with the introduction of the Combined Charging Unit. The BMW iX xDrive45 can now charge at an output of 175 kW, while the xDrive60 and M70 xDrive models can charge at 195 kW. These improvements significantly reduce charging times, while the pre-conditioning feature optimizes battery performance in colder conditions.

The BMW iDrive system, based on the latest BMW Operating System 8.5, provides seamless connectivity and intuitive control through the BMW Curved Display. Customers can access digital services like video streaming and in-car gaming, as well as plan optimized routes with the My BMW App.

The BMW iX sets new standards in driving assistance systems. Standard features include Driving Assistant Plus, Active Cruise Control, and Parking Assistant with reversing camera. The optional Highway Assistant offers Level 2+ autonomous driving capabilities, allowing the vehicle to steer itself on dual carriageways at speeds of up to 130 km/h (81 mph). Other advanced features like Active Lane Change Assistant and Parking Assistant Professional provide additional convenience and safety.

Interior: A Blend of Luxury and Sportiness

Inside, the BMW iX offers a luxurious, spacious cabin, combining progressive design with sporty touches. The M Sport package includes multifunction seats with perforated microfibre/Sensatec upholstery, an M leather steering wheel, and unique trim finishes.
